Reliable low-humidity storage for MSD components in SMT placement, PCB assembly and semiconductor manufacturing — from the compact 200-liter unit to the 1250-liter large cabinet, optionally with IoT remote monitoring.
An MSD (moisture sensitive device) dry cabinet stores moisture-sensitive components such as IC packages, BGAs, QFPs and PCBs at controlled low humidity. We supply dry cabinets of the Dr. Storage brand at ≤ 1% RH and ≤ 5% RH for different manufacturing and storage requirements.
If components absorb moisture during storage, the risk of package cracking and delamination during reflow soldering increases. Dry storage reduces this risk in SMT, PCB assembly and semiconductor manufacturing.

For the highest demands on dry storage — e.g. for especially moisture-critical MSD components at the highest sensitivity levels.
Both F1 sizes: < 1% RH (±1% RH), accuracy ±2% RH and ±1 °C, 110 V / 230 V. According to the datasheet, after the door is open for 30 seconds the cabinet returns to < 5% RH within 15 minutes and < 2% RH within 30 minutes. Power consumption F1-1200-6: avg. 135 Wh (max. 425 W), F1-600: avg. 83 Wh (max. 285 W).
The widest size range of the series — from 202 to 1250 liters — for most standard MSD applications in electronics manufacturing.
All X2B sizes: < 5% RH, accuracy ±3% RH and ±1 °C, 110 V / 230 V. According to the datasheet, after the door is open for 30 seconds the cabinet returns to < 10% RH within 15 minutes and < 5% RH within 30 minutes. Shelves per size: 1200-6 and 600 with 5, 400 with 3, 200 with 2. Power consumption X2B-1200-6: avg. 105 Wh (max. 305 W), all other sizes: avg. 55 Wh (max. 155 W).
Humidity freely adjustable from 1 to 50% RH instead of fixed at a minimum, suitable when different materials need different storage conditions, for example electronic components, precision metal parts, optical components or lab samples.
All A1B sizes: humidity adjustable from 1 to 50% RH, accuracy ±3% RH and ±1.0 °C (display accuracy ±2% RH and ±1 °C at < 10% RH and 25 °C), 110 V / 230 V, average power consumption 48.6 Wh (max. 145 W). With built-in flash and buzzer alarm, RS-232 interface, heat-resistant PPS dehumidifier (up to 230 °C), modular design, silent, drip-free and frost-free operation and shelves that can be placed in any position. For moisture-sensitive components (for example MSL 2, 2a and 3), set the humidity according to the material specification, manufacturer information and process requirements.
Drawers can be added to our dry cabinets as an option, including cabinets with different humidity levels. They are a purpose-built storage solution for reels, PCBs and components: material is sorted by category and retrieved quickly via smooth-running slides. They come in different sizes and layouts, for small parts as well as large quantities. Example in the photo: DX2B-1200-6. We clarify which drawers fit which model when you inquire.
For semiconductor manufacturing, electronics assembly and PCB production: better material management, less waste and longer component life.

Adjustable flow from 1 to 25 L/min, inlet Ø 8 mm.
External signal tower that flashes and warns when humidity exceeds the set value.
Two special solutions are available for storage directly at the SMT line: a dry cabinet with intelligent reel management and a dry cabinet for SMT feeders. Sizes and equipment are tailored to your line.
The Smart Reel cabinet combines dry storage with reel tracking and inventory management. According to the manufacturer, it can be integrated into MES and ERP systems via an open communication interface and technical documentation. With the feeder cabinet, feeders and component tape stay dry during material changes or production pauses; the racks can be adapted to feeders from different manufacturers, for example Panasonic, Yamaha, Hanwha, Juki, Siemens and ASM. Dimensions, prices and configuration on request.
Nitrogen cabinets maintain storage conditions with dry nitrogen instead of electric dehumidification. A humidity-based control supplies nitrogen only when the humidity is above the set value. This is mainly worthwhile if your facility already has a nitrogen supply. The QB and QS series are available in 624 l and 1250 l.
All nitrogen cabinets: humidity adjustable from 1 to 50% RH, accuracy ±3% RH and ±1 °C, 110 V / 230 V, shelf sizes 1155 × 530 mm (1250 l) or 555 × 530 mm (624 l). The automatic control supplies nitrogen only when humidity is too high; they also offer a humidity alarm, flash and buzzer alarm and an RS-232 interface. The QS series is made of stainless steel. Optional: O₂ sensor and colorful storage bins. According to the manufacturer, nitrogen consumption can be reduced by up to 80% compared with continuous purging; the actual saving depends on humidity setting, door opening and gas supply.
Drying and storage at elevated temperature, e.g. to reset the floor life of components without deforming sensitive carrier tapes in an oven. The T50A series works at 40 to 50 °C, the T70A series at 40 to 70 °C, each in three sizes.
How to reset floor life: bake components according to Table 4-1 of IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033 (depending on package thickness and moisture sensitivity level), then keep them in the same cabinet under ultra-dry storage. The cabinet combines controlled heat with very low humidity and so avoids the oxidation and discoloration that can occur in high-temperature ovens.
Shorter recovery time after baking. The manufacturer quotes roughly twice the dehumidification speed.
The cabinet switches automatically between baking and ultra-dry storage (≤ 5% RH).
Components stay dry in the same cabinet after baking instead of picking up moisture between oven and storage.
According to the manufacturer, the cabinet needs only about a quarter of the power of a conventional oven.
Alerts on temperature and humidity deviations so conditions stay within the specified range.
All T models bake and dehumidify in one cabinet: the dehumidification unit keeps running even when the heating is off, and humidity drops to below 1% RH at maximum temperature (according to the manufacturer down to 0.1% RH at 25 °C and 50% RH ambient). The gentle baking avoids the thermal damage and slight oxidation that can occur in 125 °C ovens, and the components do not absorb moisture again after cooling. Equipped with temperature and humidity display, alarm (buzzer and flashing light), RS-232 interface for an optional data logger and lighting when the door is opened. According to the manufacturer, the T50A meets the requirements of J-STD-033D. Volume and number of shelves on request.
Humidity and temperature values can be checked remotely — useful with multiple cabinets or shift work.
Continuous recording of storage conditions — helpful for quality documentation under IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033.
Early notification of deviations from the set target values, instead of random on-site checks.
Note: The models shown are a selection from the full range. Further sizes, versions and current prices are available on request.
An MSD (moisture sensitive device) dry cabinet stores moisture-sensitive components such as ICs, BGAs, QFPs and PCBs at controlled low humidity. This keeps components from absorbing moisture that can cause package cracking or delamination during reflow soldering.
For standard MSD, ≤ 5% RH is usually sufficient (X2B series); according to the datasheet this meets the storage requirements of IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033. Choose ≤ 1% RH (F1 series) for particularly sensitive components or customer specifications. The A1B series is adjustable from 1 to 50% RH.
Use the selection guide on this page: enter the storage condition, reel size, tape width and number of reels and you get a recommendation with a guideline for capacity. We confirm the exact loading with you before every quote.
Components are baked according to Table 4-1 of IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033, depending on package thickness and moisture sensitivity level, and then kept under dry storage. The T50A and T70A baking dry cabinets combine baking and dry storage in one cabinet.
According to the datasheet, an X2B cabinet returns to < 10% RH within 15 minutes and < 5% RH within 30 minutes after the door is open for 30 seconds. An F1 cabinet reaches < 5% RH after 15 and < 2% RH after 30 minutes.
Yes, drawers are available as an option. There are reel drawers for 54 reels of 7" or 27 reels of 13" as well as drawers without and with dividers (504 × 440 × 100 mm). We clarify which drawers fit which model when you inquire.
An electric dry cabinet dehumidifies with its own technology and needs no gas connection. A nitrogen cabinet maintains conditions with dry nitrogen, which is supplied only when humidity is too high. It is mainly worthwhile if a nitrogen supply already exists. Other factors are the required humidity, how often the door is opened and the running gas costs. For several dry cabinet series a nitrogen filling module is also available as an option.
